KAISER idell lamps
The first KAISER Idell lamp, the KAISER Idell 6631 table lamp, was launched back in 1936 by the German manufacturer Gebr. Kaiser & Co. Christian Dell
The German silversmith, Christian Dell , designed the lamp. Based on an innovative and revolutionary invention – the ball joint! The concept was quickly patented, so the technique was only available to Gebr. Kaiser & Co. These ball joints that allow you to loosen different parts and adjust the lamp to suit your needs are still in use today.
Christian Dell was one of the key figures in establishing the Bauhaus style. From 1922 to 1925, he was in charge of the Bauhaus metal workshop that developed innovative design. When he designed the KAISER Idell table lamp in 1926, he changed the history of design, and the popular lamp became a symbol for the Bauhaus period. The lamp was given the KAISER name by the factory where it was made, whereas Idell is a combination of the designer’s last name and the word “idea”.

The design-related values of the lamp were closely aligned with those of Fritz Hansen’s furniture, so it seemed like a natural addition to the furniture collection.
