Lamps over the coffee table

A pendant is the style of lamp that works best over a coffee table. When it comes to actually hanging the pendant, it’s important that the lamp doesn’t block or disturb your view of the rest of the room. Always experiment to find the ideal hanging height – you don’t want your new lamp to hang so low that you can’t see your TV. It’s also important to make sure that the light isn’t shining right in your eyes.

Many people use table lamps or floor lamps to light the area around their sofa and coffee table, but a more modern trend is to use a pendant lamp instead. They’re betting at lighting up the entire room and serve as a central focus for the room’s decor. To keep them from overwhelming the rest of the room we recommend pendants with a diameter of 20 to 40 centimetres.

Pendants are wonderfully flexible – they can hang alone, in a pair or in groups. It’s up to you to decide what works best in your room and the only limit is your own imagination.
