Since its founding in 1949, the Italian design group Kartell has been responsible for a wealth of beautiful designs for interior design - lamps as well as home accessories. Having worked with a number of design luminaries including Paolo Rizzatto and Philippe Starck, Kartell specializes in plastic as a medium to create innovative applications for modern design and living. Kartell's new series of vases,
Okra, is characterized by the same idea and is therefore made from 100% recycled plastic. Here, sustainability, recycling and optimal use of available resources have been the basis for the beautiful design that manifests itself in an aesthetic collection of small and large vases in a multitude of beautiful colors.
The Okra series is the brainchild of Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola for Italian design manufacturer Kartell. Urquiola studied architecture and design at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and graduated from the Politecnico di Milano, where she studied under Italian design master Achille Castiglioni. Since then, Urquiola has worked with a number of international design companies that have turned her ideas into many beautiful creations. Lampemesteren sells both lamps and homewares by Urquiola. You can find them all
here. The vases can be used both as pure decorative objects, possibly with a decorative flower or bouquet, and as an aesthetic storage solution for various everyday objects. The design of the vases is characterized by soft curves and a regular groove pattern on the surface, giving them a matte character and a refined look. Each color variant is carefully selected to create a beautiful eye-catcher that is also easy to integrate into the home interior.
